Hadley's 1st Easter

This is Hadley's last "first" holiday to celebrate! Yep! We've ALREADY almost made it one full lap around the calendar!! :( :( :( Even though the pangs of time slipping by are hard to take, we had a wonderful weekend celebrating this special holiday with our little bunny!

Mama decided to start the party a little early. On Good Friday, it was by time that we break out the bunny ears!

This little bunny was the STAR of Kroger, I'll tell you what!

One lady even stopped and pinched her cheek! Haha.... sorry Hadley!

Sooooo embarrassing, I know!

Daddy had off work on Good Friday, as well, so we drove over to Deep Ellum and had some delicious barbecue at Pecan Lodge! This place is super popular and you have to wait in a long line that wraps around the building to order.

Just another opportunity to parade you around in those ears! :) :)

On Saturday, Lissie and Aunt Claire joined us and we went on a little field trip an hour north of town to visit Texas Tulips - a tulip farm where you can pick an assortment of tulips to take home.
Picture
The tulips were disappointing, however, as it is almost the end of their season and a recent hail storm damaged a lot of them.. Not quite the photo op I was hoping for. We made due and found a few pretty clusters to take some photos around - because lets be honest... we came for the pictures, not the tulips! :)

Regardless of the quality of the tulips I'd say we got what we came for!

Buttttt, in case you need just a few more pictures of Hadley in her darling smocked bunny outfit. Don't worry. We've got you covered! :)

Such a fun day and it wasn't even EASTER yet!

On Easter morning, we kicked off the day by coming down to find what the Easter Bunny had left Miss Hadley and Boy was he generous!! Hadley must have been a good little girl - or else she is extremely lucky to have some very loving friends and family members! Most likely both! :)

Hadley's very favorite thing were the plastic Easter eggs - go figure! :)

This year we were excited to stay in town and celebrate our first Easter as a family of three at our new church home! Highland Park Methodist always does their Easter service at Moody Coliseum on SMU campus to accommodate the thousands of people who come to worship on Easter Sunday! It was a wonderful service and we enjoyed our first Easter as members of HPUMC.

After a morning nap for Hadley, we had brunch at Smoke, another barbecue restaurant (Mason was in heaven this weekend) at Hotel Belmont. It was delicious, as usual, and we got even more great pictures - this time with the Dallas Skyline as our backdrop!

It was a terrific weekend and we had so much fun celebrating Hadley's first Easter! This may be her last first holiday, but we know that the holidays to come will only grow in fun each year as we create memories together as a family!

Happy 1st Easter Hadley! Our blessings are many this year, but you most certainly top our list!

10 Months Old

Oh my word! We've reached the double digits!!! I'd be really sad about it if Hadley wasn't getting cuter, smarter, and more fun by the day. This month she has become a little wiggle worm, is able to get where she wants by scooting or dragging herself around, and has started signing back to us! She shakes her head no, she waves at everyone and everything, and she wants to eat EVERYTHING that Mommy & Daddy eat. She dances, she bobs her head to music she likes, and she snuggles when she's sleepy. Needless to say this month has been one of the most enjoyable ones yet!

Happy 10 Months Hadley!

She wanted a closer look of the blocks and went head first off the front of the chair! Luckily Mama dropped the camera in time to break her fall. So after that we had to change our pose...
Picture
This girl is obsessed with standing. It'll be a toss up as to whether she walks or crawls first. She loves being up on her feet!

Here are a few things Hadley loves this month...
Picture
Milestones this Month:
  • Waving Hello and Bye Bye to everyone, animals, passing cars, etc...
  • Can sign "all gone" when she is done with her food! Baby genius!!! :)
  • Out of the baby tub and now bathes in a big girl bath seat.
  • Says "Dada"!
  • Slept through the night every night for a month!!
  • Can take assisted steps.
  • Ticklish under her arms and on her tummy.
  • Eats almost ANYTHING we eat - including ahi tuna, ha - fancy girl! (She loves food)!
  • Feeds herself pretty well.
  • Crawling backwards, in circles, and beginning to scoot forwards.

Clothing/Diapers:
Clothing size 3-6, 9, or 6-12 depending on the brand. She is still very much on the small side, which is good I guess because we have gotten a lot of wear out of her clothes. Still size 2 diapers!

Sleeping:
This month has been a glorious month of sleep for Miss Hadley and her grateful parents! She consistently sleeps from 8pm-6am (sometimes even 7am) in her crib! She also is still taking two good naps during the day! She prefers to nap with Mommy during the day and likes to put her fingers in Mom's mouth or nose as she's falling asleep... maybe it's time to start getting her into stuffed animals instead? Ha. She still likes sleeping in her Merlin suit and knows when we put it on her that it is sleep time and falls asleep pretty quickly after we zip it up. Love that thing!

Food:
There is nothing this girl won't eat and she sometimes acts like a bottomless pit - especially if it's food from Mom or Dad's plate. She is starting to lose interest in baby food in favor of solids. She is also still nursing about 4 times a day, as well.

Things Hadley Hates:
Changing her diaper, being in her carseat, being in the car for too long... Pretty much anything babyish. Getting to be such an independent big girl!

Hadley, here are a few things we love best about you this month...

♡♡♡♡ We Love...♡♡♡♡
  • how fast you are catching onto things! Sign language, nodding your head "No" when we tell you not to do something, new words, crawling... We are amazed at how intelligent you are becoming!
  • tickling you and listening to your sweet giggles!
  • watching you play in the tub and splash around.
  • how you flap your arms like a bird when you get excited!
  • how you are really starting to understand humor and smile or laugh at things that are funny!
  • giving you new experiences - new foods, feeding the ducks, etc. We love watching your reactions to things!
  • that no one taught you how to ride a horse but instinctively you know to bounce up and down and kick its sides!
  • that you jump up and down in your crib!
  • that you are becoming more of a cuddler, especially before bed time.
  • that you cry when you are "scolded" for pulling Mommy's hair out or biting during nursing (not because we want you to cry, but because you seem so remorseful for hurting Mommy. Sweet girl.)
  • that you are the happiest little girl!
Picture
Hadley - you have continued to be such a trooper as Mommy finishes recovering from knee surgery. I am just about all healed so things should get back to normal pretty soon! You have been the sweetest most patient thing and have been the light in our lives throughout this month of downtime. Next month will be a lot more fun and we can't wait to make more memories with you!

We love you so very much!! Happy 10 months!!

XOXOXO
