Father's Day

....was a week ago! But oh my, have we had a week! More on that in the next post. We'll just focus this one on Daddy!
Picture
Oh, does this one love her Daddy! She squeals and practically skips to greet him each day when he walks in the door from work.
Picture
He sings "Baby Beluga" with her every evening and rocks her to bed each night.
Picture
He puts in hair bows like a champ, arranges for ponies to make special appearances at her parties, wipes away her tears, and takes her on Daddy/Daughter dates!
Picture
When Mama has had a rough day or is running thin, he steps in and does whatever it takes to make things better for all!
Picture

But most of all, he works hard each day to ensure that his little girl (and her Mommy) get the very best!

He may be wrapped around her pinky, but she is equally enamored of her Daddy!

It is such a sweet relationship that I have had the joy to watch grow!

This Father's Day, we had plans to go to church and then brunch afterward, but our A/C went out in our house Saturday evening and we had to pack our bags and have a little impromptu staycation at a nearby hotel. Needless to say, with all of the drama we did not make it to church, but we did go out to lunch to celebrate the man of the day!

It was a crazy day that did not go as planned, but as usual, Mason takes charge and helps manage all the bumps in our road together!

We love you so very much! Thank you for being the best "Da-Da" to Hadley that she could ever hope to have. We are truly blessed to be yours! Happy Father's Day!

Swim Lessons

Summer is here and we haven't wasted one moment of having fun in the sun! We kicked off the season with  "Parent & Tot" swim lessons. Mommy loves swimming and scuba diving, so it's important to me for her to feel comfortable in the water from an early age!

Also, those swimsuits weren't going to show themselves off, so we decided we'd go for the two week session of swim lessons that were held Monday-Thursday for 30 minutes each day. 8 classes in all.

On the first day of lessons, Hadley was ready to dive in immediately upon arrival. She wasn't happy to have to wait until classes began to get in the water and she also was not a fan of putting on her sunscreen!

During our swim classes, we learned lots about water safety, how to get in and out of the pool, how to put our head under water, and practiced floating on our tummy and back! Hadley LOVED it!

She is definitely our little summer baby! She loves the water and splashing around and pretty much has no fear, which means we will have to watch her like a hawk! But we are so glad that she enjoys it and isn't afraid to jump right in!

Today, on our last day of class they let the kids play in the kid area of the pool with all of the slides, waterfalls and other equipment turned on. We had so much fun walking around and exploring it all!

One of the best parts of our lessons was watching Hadley interact with the other kids in her class. They ranged from 9 months - 3 years old! Hadley was definitely a class favorite walking around to greet all of her friends each day! The cutest!

We were sad for classes to come to an end today, but are so proud of her accomplishments! Mainly I'm thrilled that she can dunk her head under water successfully! Woohoo! Summer Olympics 2036 here we come!!! :)

Bet you all thought  that once Hadley turned one I would quit doing the monthly update posts. Wrong-o my friends! I will continue the monthly documentation FOREVER!!!! Or at least until she turns two! :)
Picture
This month has been my favorite month so far! It's like as soon as she turned one things started clicking for her and she has turned into such a big girl, imitating Mommy & Daddy. Monkey see, monkey do!!
Picture
Hadley LOVES:
  • Her water table!
  • Her picnic basket & play food!
  • Swimming/splashing in baby pools
  • Walking
  • Taking out her hair bows! :(
  • Giving hugs & kisses
  • The fan
  • Taking out toys that were just put away
  • Pasta, pancakes, and pretty much any carb!
  • Anything sweet! Just like Mommy & Daddy!
  • FRUIT!

Milestones this Month:
  • Walking!!! Still just taking a few steps at a time for now, but getting braver each day!
  • Using a fork by herself!! BIG GIRL!!!
  • New word: "Uh-oh", "Mmmm" (when she eats)
  • Playing pretend (with her play food, with her toy cell phone, etc)
  • Points at things that she wants
  • Combs/brushes her hair
  • Blows on her food so that it won't be too hot!
  • Does the "Home Alone", putting her hands on either side of her face!
  • Mimics sounds, facial expressions, movements, etc! A total copycat! :)

Things Hadley Hates:
Cutting her nails, wiping her mouth, loud noises (garbage truck, loud babies, ...)
Picture
Hadley, here are a few things we love best about you this month...

♡♡♡♡ We Love...♡♡♡♡
  • Playing pretend with you! Fake eating plastic food has never been so enjoyable!
  • Watching how excited you are by standing in front of the fan as it blows your hair back!
  • Watching you take the water from the water table and dump it all over yourself!
  • How you observe older kids and admire all of the things they are doing.
  • How stinking adorable you are in all of your swimsuits!!!
  • How proud you are when you master a new skill!
  • Your giggles! Everything is so funny to you and your comedic timing is spot on! You make us laugh a lot!
  • How your hair is starting to curl on the ends! So cute!!!
  • How you've started carrying your purse around the house!
  • How mature you have become. Naptimes and rides in the car have gotten WAY easier this month! Hardly any crying anymore!
  • All the compliments we receive on how well behaved you are at restaurants, on shopping trips, etc! And how cute you are! We agree! :)
Picture
My being sad that you are now a big one year old was very short lived! We are loving watching you grow up, Hadley! Every new thing you do is the absolute cutest and makes us so very proud! Of course we think you are the most genius baby who ever lived, but we could be biased.... :) We have lots of fun things planned for the summer and can't wait to share it all with you! Love you sweet girl!!!

Happy 13 Months!!!
