For the second summer in a row, our air conditioning went out. Last year, this was a fun adventure as we got to get out of the house with, a then 3 month old, Hadley for her first hotel stay. We had a lot less to lug around back in those days. Just a light, easily portable rock n play and a few diapers.
Now we have to haul around her giant pack n play, diapers, food, sippy cups, toys, etc. Nevertheless we set out on our journey!
Hadley loved the change of scenery, including a new bed to jump on!

Look how much she's grown since last year's Summer Staycay!
Anyway, we stayed at the Lumen hotel across the street from SMU campus and got a great deal booking through hotels.com at the last minute! We even got upgraded to the fantasy suite - ha, maybe it wasn't called that, but it was pretty fancy! :) Check out the robes we found waiting for us!
We know how to live! :) So yeah our Staycation (which was on Father's Day Eve) turned out to be a pretty good time!
That is until, our AC didn't work the next day either, forcing us to extend our little holiday from home. Staying in hotels is all glitz and glam until you have to logistically figure out napping schedules/hotel check out times, where and what to eat, how to entertain her all day long, getting more clothes/diapers out of a 95 degree home with a one year old, etc... Not to mention Mason had to work on Monday so I was forced to deal with a lot of these issues on my own... blah!

A little over 48 hours later and our AC was repaired, putting an end to our 2nd Annual Guinn Family Broken A/C Staycation.
Let's hope next year, if we decide to explore new Dallas hotels, it is on our own terms and not due to a faulty cooling unit.
Stay cool! XOXO!
